Gles wit slight yellow tint for severe astigmatism?

I have severe astigmatism, my ophthalmologist said this slight amber tint could make my vision even sharper than it is now, see, I have a problem when it comes to background colors, has anyone with severe astigmatism got slightly amber tinted lenses, not clip ons, the actual lenses of the gles. If you do, have they helped your eye problem with background colors, like for reading signs and stuff. Has it made your vision sharper then when you wore transission lenses?? A good answer would be greatly appreciated!
