Doesn't this upset you?

When you're watching a movie about a certain time period, and the people aren't even dressed appropriately for that time? For example...I was watching "Absolutely Maybe." The movie mostly takes place in the 90's and in the beginning, the 80's. In the movie, NOT ONE PERSON was dressed as if it was actually the early 90's. In fact, most of the characters looked as if they were working around say 2004. I mean, they gave homage to the old "pager/cellphone" and the dial up internet, but c'mon. It was not believable. Also, they could've made the set of NYC or the surrounding areas look a little convincing that it was NYC circa 90's. Like for real. I was so upset. A lot of other films do this too. Are they too lazy to make these details? Or just oblivious?
