My cat licks cinder blocks and bricks. Why does she do this?

My mom thinks it's because the cat isn't getting enough of something in her diet. We feed her the Purina Indoor Formula dry cat food. She eats it with no problem but she goes up to bricks and cinder blocks and licks them. Any ideas why?
