Can my husband contribute to my pension and get his higher rate tax relief back?

He is a higher 40% rate tax payer. Could he pay into a pension for me and claim the additional relief back on his tax bill? That way he could offset the 40% bill and providing I don't exceed the tax threshold on retirement, he could recoup the government's contribution. Is this right?
